The first question most couples ask us isn’t about venues or florals. It’s about the weather. And it should be. In Los Cabos, the month you choose shapes everything: the light at your ceremony, the temperature at your reception, how your guests feel stepping off the plane, storm risk, and what your weekend costs.
Here is how we think about the calendar after years of planning weddings on this coast.
The Short Answer
If you want the most reliable weather and the most beautiful evenings, plan for November through May. If you want privacy, softer pricing, and don’t mind heat, late spring is the season we recommend most often and the one fewer couples consider.

Month by Month
January
Clear skies, warm days, and evenings cool enough for a light wrap. Humpback whales are in the water, and guests often spot them from the reception terrace. This is peak season, so venues book early.
February
Some of the most dependable weather of the year. Dry air, calm seas, and whale activity at its height. Valentine’s weekend fills quickly across the corridor, so book well ahead if a February date matters to you.
March
The days start warming and the light turns golden earlier in the afternoon. Spring break brings crowds to downtown Cabo San Lucas in mid to late March, so we steer couples toward private villas or quieter resorts along the corridor during these weeks. In 2027, Semana Santa, the week leading up to Easter, falls in late March. It’s one of the busiest travel weeks in Mexico, so availability and pricing tighten across the region.
April

April is warm, dry, and bright, with some of the most consistent weather of the year. Daytime temperatures are comfortable rather than hot, the humidity stays low, and sunsets move later into the evening, giving you a longer golden hour for portraits and cocktail hour. With winter demand easing, April often brings more availability at sought-after venues without sacrificing the weather. It’s one of the most underrated months to marry in Los Cabos.
May
This is our favorite month to recommend. The water is warming, the weather is dry and calm, and demand eases after the winter rush. Do keep in mind that the afternoons can be hot, so we schedule ceremonies closer to sunset and design receptions around the ocean breeze.
June

Hot and still largely dry. Hurricane season officially begins in June, though significant storms this early are uncommon near Los Cabos. June works well for couples who want long evenings and are comfortable with heat.
July
In July, the humidity rises and afternoons become intense. It’s during this month that resorts often offer their most favorable rates. A July wedding can be stunning, but it needs a planning team that builds the entire weekend around shade, timing, and guest comfort.
August
August is usually the hottest, most humid month, and the start of the most active storm period. We don’t rule it out, but we’re candid with couples about the tradeoffs and storm risk.
September
This is historically the most active month for storms in Baja California Sur. We rarely recommend a September wedding here if we can help it. If the date is non-negotiable, we plan a full weather contingency and confirm every vendor’s backup capacity in advance.
October
Early October still carries a bit of a storm risk. By late October, conditions improve noticeably, and the water is at its warmest. A late October wedding can feel like Cabo’s best kept secret.
November

Expect warm days and comfortable nights. Día de Muertos falls in early November, which inspires some of the most meaningful designs we get to create. Thanksgiving week is always in high demand with our American couples. Expect lots of travelers and hotel guests during Thanksgiving week as well.
December
Festive, lively, and fully booked. Holiday weeks carry premium pricing and minimum stays at most properties. Whales begin arriving mid-month. December weddings reward couples who plan early but can be fairly expensive for traveling guests.
What the Calendar Doesn’t Tell You
The weather is only one layer. Your guests’ travel patterns matter just as much. A long weekend in the US or a school holiday can double airfare. A resort’s high season can mean a three or four night minimum for a room. And sunset shifts by more than an hour between winter and summer, which changes the timing of your ceremony, cocktail hour, and photography.
This is where planning becomes strategy. The right month for you depends on your guest list, your events, and the experience you want people to remember.
